Done in an abstract realism style, this red bellied woodpecker is framed by the natural elements and patterns of the wood. The intricate patterns and shapes are remarkable, adding to the overall allure of the piece. There is a special beauty in the red bellied woodpecker that drew me to this painting. I completed this piece after capturing a picture of him in our backyard at the feeder. I love the orange hues and as an Artist it makes me laugh that the name reflects “red.”
